The total costs I am going to have to pay are roughly $8,000. I have applied for several scholarships but unfortunately I did not receive any money thus far. I'm working very hard to earn money, I do have a job, and I apologize for asking you for donations but at this point I am worried if I cannot earn enough over the summer I will not be able to go and this study abroad trip is very important to my education. Thank you very much, I very much appreciate it.

I ran out of gas on the highway today.

I was on my way to work, coming from the anime club meeting (where we watched Azumanga Daiou XD). I was below E and I was going to get gas as soon as I got to work, but I was about fifteen minutes away and I noticed when I put my foot on the gas... nothing happened! I knew immediately I was out of gas. I was in the middle lane and I saw the off ramp for 44th street. I still had enough velocity to change lanes and as I was heading up the ramp I kept saying, "please go up the ramp! Please go up the ramp!" But the car stopped just as I was almost there. I put it in park so I wouldn't go flying backwards down a hill, and got out and tried to push it. If I had made it up the hill I could have turned, gone down a slight hill and made it to a gas station. I was right in the middle of the lane so people behind me would see me stopped and then go around aggitated. I'm sorry for stopping right in the middle of the lane. :( I called work on my cell phone to let them know I'd be a little late, I didn't know how long. Afterwards I furiously tried pushing my car up the hill but to no avail. I actually tried taking it out of park but I quickly realized I was going to get dragged backwards so I put it back. I was just going to walk to the gas station and buy a gas can but then two cars stopped and this guy and his wife got out, and some punk looking kids did too. They helped me move my car over to the side and then the guy and his wife offered me a ride to the gas station. It was very nice and I was so grateful, I was somewhat crying but I remained composure. I always become such a girl. :( When we got there that gas station was out of gas cans so he and his wife graciously brought me to another one where I got it and some gas. Then we returned to my car and he made sure it was alright. I was so glad, I got his name and number and I think when I get my next paycheck I'll mail them a gift certificate to the store I work for, since his wife said she shops there too. ^^
I watched Battle Royale. Its a good movie. I had to watch it without subs because I couldn't get VobSub to work properly, omae mo na...

I think I may buy the Directors Cut DVD and have my film professor watch it. I'd like to get his reaction. We're always talking about the Hollywood Machine and watching clips of classic movies like Godfather, Casablana and Citizen Kane. I haven't seen a lot of the movies he talks about, I feel a little out of place, everyone else there is gung-ho about film. Film is okay, but my passion is animation. While I understand why I need to take the film courses, by the time I get to animation they'll probably tell me to forget most of what I learned and relearn stuff the animation way. I have to do a group project with some girl named Roslyn and we have to watch The Big Sleep and do a shot breakdown and analysis. Great.. Sometimes I think the people in my class read too much into the film or characters. We watched The Immigrant, by Charlie Chaplin. Hah its still as funny as it was when it came out. Slapstick comedy is always funny.

Next I want to watch Jisatsu Sakaru, and if I can find it Battle Royale II, but I hear that one's not as good.

I'm back, with all my spoils of war.

No I'm just kidding, but I did get a lot of good, heartfelt gifts. That means a lot to me, I love my family.

Yesterday I went to my grandparents to see my dad and his wife. My grandpa and Allison (dad's wife) had hit the bottle a little, well three, so they were pretty smashed. Grandpa was asking me problems about genetics, and slurring the words... he asked if my sisters (who are twins) had a child by the same man, would the offspring be siblings, or cousins? I said, "Well grandpa, I think they'd be called White Trash." They laughed, but they were drunk, so they'd laugh at anything. I was presented with a crisp twenty dollar bill. Later Jim said, "Don't spend it all in one place." Heh, that's about right. I don't mind though, they probably give all their grandchildren twenties. It occurred to me later, I felt like a whore. Oh well, twenty bucks oh boy! Dad and Allison lavishly gave my sisters and I pails with bath stuff in it. I really don't mean to sound conceited, its nice they even bothered to get me a present. Dad naturally started in on why I don't draw and market my "original characters," after I gave him a Christmas card with something I drew on it. He said he could take my characters and market them and make me millions of dollars. I retorted that I am not a cooperate whore. I'm going the Bill Watterson route, Calvin and Hobbes are famous and he never marketed his characters. Then he mentioned how I never stop by, even though I have a car now. Well sorry dad, I'm busy working and paying my college tuition. Oops guess you forgot to help me out, and whoops guess you forget that little clause in the divorce decree where it says you don't have to help pay for our college at all. Thanks for the pail and lotion though. ^^

From my sister Cassie I recieved... a Spider-Man bath set! It has a Spidey spounge-thing and it has Spidey's face on it, Spider-Man bubble bath and bath tablets, and Spidey chapstik! I've been using it all night. ^^ Now I can have Spidey in the shower... ^^; My mom gave me grean tea bath stuff (I wonder if they're trying to tell me something...) which smells great, and also green tea perfume. I hope Jim likes that smell. I also got new speakers for my computer (yay, my previous ones burnt out a few weeks ago), State of Fear (hurray!!!) and some other little things. All of us recived DVDs, as is the tradition. We got an assorted amount of teen comedy movies; Mean Girls (which is alright); White Chicks (stupid, but I laughed); and I got Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Pink Floyd's The Wall. Mom said she's getting us a PS2, and DDR assorted games, that would be very cool. I'm also getting a remote car starter. It sounds like I'm spoiled, doesn't it? I never ask for anything, yet I still feel a little bad about getting such nice things. I like I really like my gifts. ^_____^ I'm waiting for Jim's card to come in the mail, I think it'll arrive Tuesday. :3

I have thirty hours this week, and I worked twenty-five this week. I hope I can start to rebuild my bank account. I should put my books on eBay, or something. I still have books from my first semester in college. :O
I apologize to my sister and tell her she'll need to take the bus with Cassie (Katie has a 0 hour class). I figure that my car'd be better by the afternoon. WRONG. On top of this, I thought my athropology exam was tomorrow, it was this morning. :\ So I missed it because my car wouldn't work. I called my professor to explain my situation... I hope she lets me make up the exam...

I was supposed to go to school today and pay my tuition payment, and turn in a closed-class permit so I can take French 307... Then Professor Holt had this written on the overhead, "Cooking? Fire?" because there is a question as to when the first evidence of cooking and control of fire began, although its likely H. erectus did because of their gracile facial features. So I said he walks up and says, "Cooking? Fire?". :D

Well... I thought that it was funny.

And now we at the Beyond Rediculousness Department of America bring you a special and entertaining message.

christiananime.net

"CAA is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicating to using the anime and manga world to transform lives and impact others for Jesus Christ, whom we believe to be the one and only son of God.
How to be saved:
1. Realize you are a sinner in need of rescuing
2. Realize the only way for salvation is faith in Jesus Christ
3. Come before Jesus in prayer and ask that He cleanse you of your sins
4. Believe in your heart that He did all that He said (including dying and rising again), and confess with your mouth you want Christ to be your personal Lord.

We believe:
- The Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative and inerrant Word of God. Through His Word, Christ is able to communicate to us and provide a guideline for our lives. The Bible also provides the ground work for all of life’s questions.
- That there is one God and one God alone, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Spirit. We also believe God made Himself accessible to humanity through His only son Jesus Christ, and through Christ, we can be saved. We believe God longs to experience a personal, intimate relationship with us.
- In the deity of Christ: in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His all-atoning death, His resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe Christ Jesus is the only way to heaven, and without Him none can be saved from the fires of hell.
- That one can be saved by confessing with your mouth that Christ is God, believing in your heart that he conquered death, and asking forgiveness for sin.
- That we are saved not by our actions or anything we could do to “make it up to God”, but rather, by His mercy and by faith, which means believing in Him. In short, we did nothing to deserve salvation; it was a free gift from God we can have by believing in Him.
- In the resurection of both the saved and the lost. Christians are resurrected into eternal life with God and the heavenly hosts in heaven, the lost are revived into eternal death in hell.

Our stance on:
- Politics: we feel that all governments are put into place by God, but not all governments are correct. We are not aligned politically with any party, movement, or political organization in any part of the globe. Political discussions for the sake of debate is not tolerated here.
- Abortion: We are very pro-life, no question about it. Abortion is wrong, and is murder, no matter what the circumstances.
- Homosexuality: We believe firmly that homosexuality is a perversion of light, and is in itself a sin. It is a choice, a lifestyle, and a mindset, not a genetic fault. Anime glorifying this lifestyle is looked down upon extremely negatively. However, we believe in the redemptive power of Jesus Christ, and do support those who struggle against this fleshly sin.
- Media Sources: such as Kazaa and Winmx—or sites that provide illegal downloads of such media—are indeed illegal. Officially, we do not support such software.
- Other religions: We believe all other religions and religious movements other than Christianity are sinful and wrong. There is but one way to salvation, and that is through faith in Jesus Christ.
- Flaming: Flaming—the rude verbal abuse to another member—is intolerable and will be punished.
- Cursing/profanity: has no place on a Christian board. Violators will be temporarily suspended on their first offense.

If you are a non-Christian and are visiting us:
You are welcome to visit and learn from this community provided that you respect our beliefs, and come with an attitude of openness, humility, and respect. If you’re here to learn about us or Christianity, all the better. We welcome you with open arms. However, if you’re simply coming to flaunt your lifestyle in our face, mock us, or bash us or our faith, you will be banned."

I hate crap like this, they bastardize everything with their Christian talk like this http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?threadid=14665 . Wow Digimon is so serious!

Sure they have a right to talk about whatever they want. Its just highly amusing and pretty futile in my opinion to pick out slight details in anime that could be considered Christian... I mean don't they realize that most people in Japan are secular? If they do, they probably think that's evil and hope to go stay abroad to convert people. Yikes...

In addition:
http://www.animeangels.net/
http://hugglebunny.com/animereviews/reviews.php
<lj:music>RE Cutey Honey</lj:music>

I just had my mind blown tonight. ^^ I watched the RE Cutey Honey (live action movie) by Anno, and HOLY SHIT IT WAS AWESOME!

I was just stunned at how great it was. ^^ I really want to read the manga by Go Negai and watch the original anime now. I've never seen it but I knew about it, and I loved the opening theme. I'm so happy it was in the movie, updated and it sounds sweet, Sabo sent the full song to me a while ago. :D

But yeah, Anno hasn't lost his touch. I love almost everything Gainax does, except Karekano, because of my deep love of Evangelion. This almost makes me exicted for the live Eva movie... although if its done by ADV and not Anno it will suck terribly.

Since I have never seen the orginal show, nor OAV, nor Flash or read the manga, I am unable to compare and contrast the differences and similiarities. I can, however, tell you some of the aspects of the movie I though were really well done, and a few spoilers.

There isn't any nudity, but Honey is down to panties and bra a few times. There aren't a lot of crude jokes either, might have been funnier if there were. In the very beginning Honey is in the bathtub, and she gets a call on her cell phone. She doesn't have any clothes so she grabs a shopping bag. ^____^ She's running down the street wearing it, hah ha ha! When Honey transforms, we see her once or twice fully transform, the rest of the time a brilliant pink light flashes and she's dressed. I find that cool, because we don't have to waste time watching her change clothes all the time. The first villian to be fought is Gold Claw, who's kidnapped her uncle, a famous professor who helped develop the I System. His minions are no match for Honey, who can really kick ass. ^^ I liked how they went flying away into the air.

Honey is constantly late for work, where she is an OL (Office Lady) who hands out tea. Before she went to work she had to buy a lot of food to replenish her energy. She can really eat those onigiri. ^^

I like how she and Aki Natsuko (a detective, who thinks she's annoying) interact. Especially as the cold-hearted Na-chan grows to like Honey more and more.

We learn that Honey died a year before, and the system her father worked on regenerated her life. She wears a choker with a heart on it, and vows revenge on those who killed her papa. The I System is sought by Sister Jill, to become immortal.

Near the end, Cutey Honey is fighting her way to Sister Jill, and she has to get through a lot of minions, Scarlet Claw and Black Claw. The enemy's base (which looks like a huge drill) comes up out of the ground... RIGHT UNDERNEATH TOKYO TOWER! ^^ Honey has already killed Cobalt Claw in an elevator, and Sister Jill eliminated Gold Claw for being defeated earlier by Honey. Honey is fighting agents everywhere and she at one point falls on to a car, and cracks the windshield with her ass. The guy in the car makes a surprised face. Do you know who that guy was? GO NEGAI!!! Best cameo ever! ^^ She then makes it to Scarlet Claw. In all honesty, the battle with Scarlet was too easy. Even though Scarlet has a powerful attack (that went through four buildings O.o) Honey easily forced her to retreat. It was Black Claw who dispatched her once and for all for being unrefined. When Honey meets up with Black Claw... this is one of the funniest parts of the movie. Black Claw beings to.... SING HIS THEME SONG! Hahahahahaha, I laughed for five minutes. His minions are dancing around with violins, and oh it was just so hysterical. ^^ When he finished, Honey just had a repulsed look on her face. ^^ Their battle wasn't short, and I never anticipated the way she defeated him, it was good.

The ending is good, everyone is redeemed and things go back to normal, except everyone's learned a valuable lesson and you know sentimental crap. Now if only they'd do a 12 episode dorama... ^^ KANPEKI!
