Please help me pay for my study abroad trip at The Japan Center for Michigan Universities. I leave August 31st, 2006 and I will be studying in Japan until April 15th, 2007.

The total costs I am going to have to pay are roughly $8,000. I have applied for several scholarships but unfortunately I did not receive any money thus far. I'm working very hard to earn money, I do have a job, and I apologize for asking you for donations but at this point I am worried if I cannot earn enough over the summer I will not be able to go and this study abroad trip is very important to my education. I watched Battle Royale. Its a good movie. I had to watch it without subs because I couldn't get VobSub to work properly, omae mo na...

I think I may buy the Directors Cut DVD and have my film professor watch it. I'd like to get his reaction. We're always talking about the Hollywood Machine and watching clips of classic movies like Godfather, Casablana and Citizen Kane. I haven't seen a lot of the movies he talks about, I feel a little out of place, everyone else there is gung-ho about film. Film is okay, but my passion is animation. While I understand why I need to take the film courses, by the time I get to animation they'll probably tell me to forget most of what I learned and relearn stuff the animation way. I have to do a group project with some girl named Roslyn and we have to watch The Big Sleep and do a shot breakdown and analysis. Great.. Sometimes I think the people in my class read too much into the film or characters. We watched The Immigrant, by Charlie Chaplin. Hah its still as funny as it was when it came out. Slapstick comedy is always funny.

Next I want to watch Jisatsu Sakaru, and if I can find it Battle Royale II, but I hear that one's not as good.

I don't want to hear any bitching or whining from anyone for a while. Not after a terrible diaster like what happened in South Asia, Africa, and India. None one has a right to complain about trivial things while sixty thousand people, and most likely more, have died.

I wish there were more I could do, I'm going to donate money. You should too.

I mailed a few cards and Jim's presents today. Afterwards, I finished shopping for my mom and sisters. I work tomorrow and I'm making deviled eggs for the potluck. Dad called a few days ago and wants to pick us up for Christmas day. I have about 30 hours for next week.
